Shopping for House Stuff

I passed a lot of time this summer by shopping and looking for things for our new house! Part of the deal was that we would get some new furniture with the $ we saved over the summer by not having a house payment. It has been harder to save $ than we thought though, because it has kind of been like we are on a L-O-N-G vacation. It costs a lot of money to be homeless! Haha! Anyway, I have done a lot of window shopping, just waiting to see how everything falls into place with our appraisal and closing, etc. I can't wait to decorate our new house! I did go ahead and buy the things in the picture above. They are my "inspiration" for decorating my house now! Here are pic's of some of the other things I have looked at. The kids have been very good sports, but there is much whining every time they find out we are going to another furniture store!
I found these canisters at HL and just had to have them! I bought one and mom bought me one, and then Poppa & Louise got us the other two as a house warming present!
This is how Jonah feels about shopping...
We searched and searched for the right backsplash tile...this was probably the hardest decision I had to make on our whole house. I just could not make up my mind!
Looking at rugs for the living room at Home Depot...
I wish I just had endless amounts of money to spend decorating our new house! Here are some things I like at Hobby Lobby. Maybe some of them will be hanging in my house someday soon!
Mom and I went shopping one day while Poppa & Louise stayed with the kids and we found this bedding set at Dillard's on clearance. I loved it and we went ahead and bought it, but I ended up finding something I liked a little better and I took it back. This was a little too "feminine" and "formal" for Brian!
Still contemplating the backsplash tile for the kitchen...
Found this entertainment center at Sunshine Furniture and fell in love with it! We went ahead and put a deposit down on it, but we will have to see how things go with the appraisal and closing costs to see if we can really buy it. Oh, I hope we can!
Here is the couch we are hoping to get. I had something else in mind, but we found this and I think I will love it! It has a fun round spinning chair that the kids think is the coolest thing ever!
Another entertainment center that I kind of liked.
We also bought bronze sink faucets to have installed in our house.
I liked this bedding set, but Brian veto'd it...I didn't know he was so into our bedding, but it's apparently a big deal, people!

We are so beyond excited and blessed that my mom is getting us a new washer and dryer as a house warming present! She does way, way too much for us, but we are so very grateful!
Yet again...more backsplash options...
Another bedding set I loved, but got voted down on...in the end, I love the one we ended up with better than any of these anyway!
