Brian had a GoStudents project in NYC the week after camp ended, so we decided kind of at the last minute to take the girls to NYC for a few days. I really went back and forth on this, because I wasn't sure we should spend the money on it, but I am SO glad we did it! I will never forget this trip with them, and I had the best time hanging out with them and giving them my full attention. We are fully realizing at this point, just how quickly these girls are growing up, so we don't want to miss any opportunities to make memories with them. We had air miles to fly them there and the hotel room was paid for, so it was pretty feasible for us to do it. The kids and I came home from Falls Creek on Thursday, Mackenzie got back from Cincinatti on Friday, we did laundry, repacked our suitcases, took the boys to GMa's house, and headed to the airport bright and early Saturday morning. (Yawn! No wonder the girls look so tired!) Brian already had his flight booked before we decided the girls and I were coming, so we had to book our flights separately. We flew out close to the same time, but we had a direct flight and he somehow had a long layover somewhere. So the girls and I were on our own in NYC for the afternoon! I will admit that I was a little nervous about navigating the subway and finding our way around without him, but we did just fine. We landed around 11:00 and took an uber to our hotel, where we dropped off our luggage, and then took off to explore the city.
This trip to NYC was much better for me than the last one, when I was pregnant and didn't know it yet!

She was very tired, and not overly excited about flying two days back to back, but in the end she was really glad we did it!
We started out in the very back of the plane, but when the flight attendant asked for volunteers to sit in the exit row, I quickly volunteered us. We ended up with all kinds of leg room & I didn't have anyone sitting next to me, so it was a great flight to NYC.

The uber ride from the airport to our hotel took about 30 minutes...Brian always takes such good care of us...he took the bus to the subway from the airport to get to the hotel, and let us uber because it would be easier for us. He goes above and beyond & I love him for it.
Our hotel was awesome...this is where the GoStudents team stays, very close to Times Square. The Empire State Building was right out our window, and we were very high up, so the view was amazing!
