Zion National Park

After getting some rest, we drove to Zion National Park, which was about an hour and a half from where we were staying. It was a beautiful drive and we went on a couple of really pretty hikes and had a nice picnic lunch. We stopped to talk to a Park Ranger first, and she suggested that we could all do the front part of the Angels Landing trail, and then the kids and I could sit at a picnic area while Brian went the rest of the way up. Ummm, she obviously overestimated our ability to hike. LOL! We hiked for about 30 minutes and figured out it was still a LONG way to the picnic table area, so we had to turn around and come down. Brian decided he would just come back and do Angels Landing the next day. We found a few other hikes that were more our pace, and we got to see the beginning of The Shallows trail, which was kind of cool. My favorite part of the day was the drive through the tunnel at Zion at the end of the day. The views were amazing! It's no secret that hiking and doing outdoorsy things isn't really my "thing," but we still had a fun time...and I was really looking forward to the last half of our trip, which our kids didn't have a clue about! I LOVE the pics we took at Zion!

These two are best buddies!
My Mini-Me!
I love watching these girls together! They have a built-in forever best friend!
Zion is so big that you have to take a shuttle bus to get around. We looked up and saw people rappeling very high up on these rocks. Never!
Our hike took us to the beginning of The Shallows hike. That's where you have to wear waders and use poles to hike through freezing cold water between very narrow rock walls. Not something that sounds fun to me, but Brian would have loved to do it if we had more time.
Jonah almost lost his brand new slingshot. He laid it down in the area where Daddy and Mack climbed up on the big rock...and we realized it was gone when we were pretty far down the trail. On our way back, we stopped to look for it, and surprise! There it was! He got lucky!
The gift shop is always their favorite part! We got out cheap on this one, and they each picked out a $5 finger puppet! It was so funny listening to them play with these in the van on our way back to our resort.
Amazing!
This is what our drive to Zion from Brian Head was like...
