Mack's Last Day of 2nd Grade

Hip, Hip, Hooray!!! The last day of school!!! I don't know what the deal is, but I am so ready for a break! (The kids are too, of course!) Mackenzie's class had a party in the gym, before the end of the year assembly. Back at Christmas, they were supposed to decorate gingerbread houses, but that fell through because the mom planning it was unable to come. Soooo, better late than never, right?! They got to decorate "summer" gingerbread houses! I don't think there's ever a bad time to decorate a gingerbread house! Each of the kids also got a beach ball, and then they all got to sign each other's balls, which they thought was great fun! After the party, we went into Chapel for the assembly, and then school was dismissed. It has been a great year of 2nd grade for Mackenzie! When I got there, Mrs. Martin told me that Mackenzie had been a little emotional that morning. She doesn't like "goodbyes" or the end of anything. She has loved having Mrs. Martin for her teacher & she has learned and grown so much. Mrs. Martin gave Mackenzie the Character Trait "Tenderheartedness, Strong enough to feel the joys and hurts of others." I would say that is very true of Mackenzie and I love that Mrs. Martin chose that for her! I can't believe Mackenzie will be in 3rd grade next year...I remember her first day of ELP like it was yesterday.
Here is a picture from the first day of school...she has grown up so much!
Mackenzie has had a sweet group of friends in her class this year!

These girls are the sweetest of friends!
I had to throw this one last thing in there...Mackenzie wrote this note for Mrs. Ambrose and I thought it was the sweetest ever! She loves Art & Mrs. Ambrose!
