"I Love My Church" Chapel

Pastor Ray came to CHA for "I Love My Church Chapel" this week. Then, the church provided pizza and the girls brought some of their friends to eat lunch. I picked up some cookies, fruit and drinks and helped set everything up. Jack helped me, of course!! =0)))
Finding a new church home was not an easy process for us, but I am very thankful to finally be settled and happy at Edmond Community Church! We love Ray & Christina, and appreciate how they have welcomed and embraced our family. It's exciting to be a part of this church plant! Brian was in Brazil during this time, or he would have been there too.
I'm so thankful for a school that sees the value in the local church, and a church that sees the value is supporting our kids and their school.

Jan Misc

January flew by! We started the month out with Nationals in Orlando, then went full-swing back into the second semester of the school year. Brian was also gone the last part of the month, from the 21-31, on a mission trip to Brazil. That was a long time & we definitely missed him!
Here are some of our everyday January moments...

Headed home from Nationals, completely worn out!
Madi just HAD to have this (weird) Monsters Inc. "stuffed animal?", "pillow?" ... not sure what to even call it! But I'm glad she likes it!
Thankful and excited about this! God is so faithful to provide a way for our kids' education.
Cuddled up on the warm couch with my people is one of my favorite places to be!
Weather like this that makes us have to stay at home, makes me very happy! As long as we have good food to eat and a warm house and we're all together...that's just the best!!
My scarf-wearer!
I guess January is a good time to clean out the junk drawer! I really don't know how this happens over and over again...where does this stuff even come from?!
While we were in Orlando, Brian took the boys over to see where ECC is going to build the church in Arcadia.
It's never too cold for ice cream!
The girls went to watch Abby in Spongebob. So fun!
Jack loves going to the Library!
He always wants to watch Curious George!
Dealing with some boy drama at school...Don't Mess with Mama...
Eeekkk!! She's going to be the cutest Olaf ever!
We are so happy to have a Surf Bar in Edmond!
That basket is just Jack's size!
After Jonah's basketball game one week, we went to Panera with GMa, Poppa and Louise. Mackenzie was at United Weekend at Emmaus, so she wasn't with us.
Words. Are. Powerful.
As we begin a new year, Lord...
"Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer!"
GMa spoiled us with another Sams haul! I can't even begin to express how helpful things like this are to us, and how much we appreciate her generosity!
We had the cutest grocery unloading crew!
I love our home!
Oklahoma weather is the craziest thing...literally -10 last week, and in the 70's the very next week. Weird.

Headed for the NBA

My favorite moment of the whole basketball season, right here!!
JONAH SCORES!!!
Jonah loves playing basketball & he is improving so much this season. It has also been a bit painful to watch--his team has lost every single game--by a lot. No doubt, there is a bit of frustration over how they split the teams up this year. CHA did an A team and a B team, which left the B team with basically no chance of winning any games against many teams that are older and more experienced than them. However...the plus side to this is that Jonah is actually getting so much more playing time, instead of sitting on the bench. (There are only 6 boys on our team.) So even though they are losing every game, he is gaining so much experience and practice, which is really more valuable. As a mom though, it is also hard to watch them be so defeated, week after week. I will say though, that Jonah has the best attitude and he never gives up.
Jonah has shot the ball several times this season, so when he finally scored his first basket, it was so exciting!! And the really fun part was that it was during the game against the other CHA 5th grade team that a lot of his friends are on. One of the boys on the other team ran over to Jonah after he scored and patted him on the back and told him good job. It was the sweetest & it encouraged my heart so much. I know it made Jonah feel good!
I love this kid!
Look how much bigger this kid is than Jonah! This was the week they played the CHA 6th grade team.
January 20th game, against the other CHA 5th grade team...I was not looking forward to this game, but it ended up being my favorite of the season, because Jonah scored his first basket! It. Was. Awesome! I loved it that the boys on the other team were very sweet and encouraging to Jonah when he scored.
I know these pictures are blurry, but I love the smile on his face after he scored!
Poppa is Jack's Skittles and Ring Pop provider at the basketball game every week!
Two separate teams...ALL Crusaders!
Poppa LOVES watching Jonah play basketball!
Jack isn't going to be left out...
