We went to Choctaw Road on Wednesday night, Dec 17, for the first time to meet everyone. Wow--there were a lot of people there! This was a crazy busy day for me, doing cookies and dealing with Jonah's basketball bullying situation...I was honestly on overload and completely overwhelmed walking into this room. But it was such a sweet experience and we are really excited to be part of The Road soon! They actually did one of the coolest things I have ever seen in a youth ministry staff transition...they put Elijah and Hannah and our family in the middle of everyone and prayed for them as they exit, and us as we enter into this position. So many times in ministry, there is a sense of competition when a new person comes in, and we aren't getting the vibe that its going to be like that here at all. So happy about that! Elijah and Hannah will still be at Choctaw Road and we are looking forward to serving alongside them. This kind of Wednesday night experience could not be more different than what we have most recently been used to, in a living room with a total of 10 people. It will be an adjustment for our kids, for sure, but we are trusting God that since He led us here, He will help us all acclimate and thrive here! We trust You, Lord...go before us!
Such a great group of adult leaders!
Brian spoke for just a few minutes and introduced himself.
