A Class Full of Turkeys

Mackenzie had a Pow-Wow at school a few days before Thanksgiving...it was the cutest thing I have ever seen! I knew that she had made some kind of costume at school, but I had no idea she was going to be a turkey! Some classes were pilgrims, some were indians, and Mack's class was turkeys...they were definitely the cutest! For several weeks, Mackenzie has been singing turkey songs...my favorite is "I'm so glad I'm not a turkey on Thanksgiving Day!" Mackenzie wasn't feeling very well, but she still had a great time. At the end, Carolyn had the turkeys turn around and shake their tails...Mackenzie just kept shaking and shaking hers. It was the funniest thing ever! That girl knows how to shake her booty...she sure didn't get that from me! After the program, we took some group pictures and the kids changed back into their regular clothes. Well, all except for Mackenzie that is! She liked her turkey shirt so much that she wore it all day! After the Thanksgiving Feast at lunch, we headed to Newcastle.

Ms. Nancy kept trying to fix Mack's turkey hat...it kept falling off during the program. Mackenzie is still one of the shortest ones in her class.

I'm so glad that Mackenzie is so social and seems to be friends with everyone in her class! I asked her if she wanted to take a picture with the boys and she said, "NO!" I think we have actually reached the point where boys are icky!

"Mommy Take My Picture!"

This was a "Mommy Take My Picture!" moment...we were at Hobby Lobby with G-Ma and Mackenzie really wanted her picture taken with this nativity set. Look how cute she is! It is so funny to me when she wants to have her picture taken...I have created a monster!

An Early Visit With Santa Claus

We got to see Santa at the Riverwalk after Mackenzie's dance recital. I think Mack was more excited about visiting Santa than she was about dancing! I wasn't sure what Madison would think about it, but she loved it! I think she felt safe since she went at the same time as Mackenzie! She just sat right up on his lap, happy as can be. This was the cutest Santa set-up...Mrs. Claus and the elves were even there! And the best part was that it was free! It isn't even December, and I can check seeing Santa off my list of things to do before Christmas! Mackenzie told Santa that she wanted the princess castles for Christmas...ALL of them! Her Christmas list is about 5 pages long! What is really funny is that she is coming up with things for Madison to ask for that she really wants for herself. Smart girl! I love these pictures...they are definitely going in some frames at my house! Now I am ready to decorate for Christmas!Madison is looking a little unsure, but she did just fine! Bye Santa!!! Madison really liked Santa! Our girls have the BEST Grandma's in the whole world! So, so thankful for them!

Christmas Dance Recital

This past Friday night was Mackenzie's "Christmas Extravaganza Recital" at the Jenks RiverWalk Amphitheater...yes, it was outside and it was wonderful! The weather was beautiful and the atmosphere was very Christmasy! (is that a word?) Mack wasn't feeling very well...she has come down with the same croup thing that Madison had. She did such a great job and had fun, but we could tell just by looking at her eyes, that she wasn't up to par. G-Ma, Grandma and Grandpa Baldwin, and Poppa & Louise all came to spend the evening with us! We were so happy that they could be there. Pa and Uncle Clint were gone hunting, or they would have come too. Mackenzie's class tapped to "Frosty the Snowman!" My favorite part was when she blew kisses at the end. That is her trademark, I think! I took Mackenzie down to the stage when it was her turn, and I ended up sitting right in front of her...she kept her eyes right on me the whole time. It was very sweet! This was a fun way to get us in the Christmas spirit!

Love this one! There are normally twice this many girls in Mackenzie's class, but they weren't all there. I love this girl!Madison was all bundled up!

Before it was Mackenzie's turn to dance, she stayed all cuddled up with G-Ma...poor little thing. I sure wish she would have felt better.

Here is the whole gang! We sat in chairs at the back of the amphitheater so we could make an early exit...everyone was very proud of Mackenzie!

Poppa & Louise and G-Ma came to the house for dinner before the recital. They drove all the way to Tulsa for a 3 minute "Frosty the Snowman" dance...so glad they love us enough to do that! I know they thought it was worth it!
