Graduation day is here...and my heart hurts. Yes, there is excitement & happiness...but also deep sadness that this chapter of her childhood is ending. I remember reading Every Morning at Play Group to Mackenzie the night before she started PreK, like it was yesterday. Time truly is a thief! What a fun ride it has been though.
When I woke up this morning, the tears instantly started. I was a little caught off guard by it, actually. It literally took me 3 hours to get myself ready with makeup on my face, because I just couldn't quit crying. I think I just had to get all of those tears out of the way though, because once the day got going and it was actually time for graduation, I didn't shed a single tear. I'm glad I was able to hold it together when it mattered!
My FB post, which pretty much wraps up exactly how I was feeling...
"Ready or not...Graduation day is here!
I can't handle an emotional post today, except to say...God is so good, I adore her, and I am so blessed to be her. mom!
I love you, Mackenzie! Great things are in store for you, and I'm here for it!
"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace."
Now, nobody be nice to me today, or I might just lose it on you. I can do this! Right?
Maybe...
We'll see..."
In honor of Mackenzie's graduation day, here are some of my very favorite pictures!
