August was a busy month, settling back in after summer and starting a new school year. So many mixed emotions happen in August...ready to go back to school and have a schedule, but not ready to wake up early...excited to be with friends at school, but not excited for homework...sad that the summer is over, but happy that we are back at home...
Here are some of our every day moments from August!
Buying school supplies & assembling notebooks is always a big task, but its much easier now that the girls completely do their own.
GMa thought this little blue-eyed boy needed his own Bluey "backpack" (its a lunchbox, but he calls it a backpack) since everyone else was getting school supplies! He loves it!
This picture sums up the end of summer perfectly for us! Moving home from camp, taking the girls to NYC, then going to Estes Park, and getting ready to go back to school...so much packing and work involved!
Oh, and laundry...so. much. laundry.
Madi made Jonah's birthday cupcakes...she is so creative! Those marshmallows though!
Brian likes to show people this picture and see if they can figure out which ones we are! =0)
We did a complete clean-out of Madison's room before school started. I don't even have words for how messy her room was, but several trash bags and many hours later, it was under control!
After! Amazing!
I cleaned out Jonah's bedroom and Jack's closet too!
Look at all of Jonah's school shirts! He is set! So thankful for our friends the Craig's, who pass down their boys clothes to Jonah. It is such a blessing to us!
Once I started cleaning out rooms, I just kept going. Today's project was the kitchen and pantry.
How beautiful is that?!
Brian was in Portugal for GoStudents while I was cleaning out half the house!
Jack loves playing in Madi's room!
Jack is not a fan of going to his class at church...I took this video one week when I picked him up! So funny how he yells at his teachers to let them know his Mommy is there! LOL!
Jack learned about King Solomon at church! =0)
Jack slept in bed with Madi one night...I was dying over this text! He hadn't been up there with her for more than 20 minutes at this point...
Madi said she barely slept at all! I was really hoping that would work out better & become a more regular thing! Ha! It looks like he slept just fine in her bed!
My childhood...
August always brings back memories of losing my dad. 11 years without him
This was Promotion Sunday at church and Jack gets to move into a new classroom.
All boys in his class!
Jack still loves to sit in these American Girl doll chairs!
Madi begged to get her nails done before school started! She likes to be fancy!
It's always a treat when the ice cream truck comes down your street!
These two are pretty inseperable!
The girls usually retreat to their rooms when we're at home these days, but I love it when we're all in the living room together.
I thought Jack would love having the jets on in the bathtub...I was very, VERY wrong!
Wearing Madi's Winnie the Pooh shirt!
Jack thinks its very fun to help carry in the groceries. He must be good at it, because it looks like I let him carry the bread!
Jack got to hang out with Daddy at work for a few hours one day. I'm sure he was a big helper!
When its nap time, but Momma has to run errands...
Jack has learned to climb behind the couch and play in this little cubby hole.
Bedtime at our house...everyone seems very ready to settle down for the night...
Jack is so funny on his pony! "Ride Pony!"
Mackenzie is still on the praise band rotation on Wednesday nights. So glad she has had the opportunity to do this!
Brian always has The Call conference at OBU at the end of August, for students called to ministry.
Looks like Jack enjoyed his cupcake!
Hanging with GMa and Rex while we were in NYC with the girls!
