So the first day of school for Mackenzie was different this year on the Secondary side of things. Most parents just dropped their kids off and didn't come in with them. But you know, well, we aren't most parents! Ha! So in we all came, to Mackenzie's locker to take some pictures, before taking Madison and Jonah to the auditorium. Daddy wanted to see Mack's locker too, since he wasn't there when we set it all up. Mackenzie was such a good sport about it and didn't seem to be embarrassed by us, which I was thankful for! I have a feeling that will change before too long...
Mack woke up in quite a bit of pain, from getting her braces on the day before, and she pretty much cried most of the way to school. I was very concerned about how her first day was going to go, because of it, and really worried that we had done the wrong thing. But, once she got to school and was surrounded by her friends, she perked up and was distracted from the pain of her braces. Once she gets the hang of how things work in Secondary, I think she is going to love it! I spent a lot of time praying for her today. This is going to be a learning experience for all of us...she is going to gain a lot of independence this year. I am so thankful that she is at CHA and has a sweet group of friends!
I packed ramen noodles, applesauce, a Hawaiian roll and some soft little muffins, but her teeth hurt so bad that I'm not sure she ate much of it.
I love the outfit Mackenzie picked out to wear on the first day of school!
Wow, what a difference a year makes!
