1st Day of Swim Lessons

This was the third year for the girls, and the first year for Jonah to take swimming lessons at ORU for two weeks at the end of June/beginning of July. I was very curious to see how Jonah would do on the first day, and I was so happy that he loved it! The first week of lessons was the week of VBS, so we had to pretty much race to get there on time. We took Katelyn and Kinley with us each day, and Connie met us there. A big bonus this time was that we were able to park at the top of the hill, thanks to Connie's recent surgery....VIP's! It's so fun to watch the girls improve with each year of lessons. They will be swimming like little fish at the end of lessons this year.
The girls have been very concerned that Jonah would cry and the teacher would make us leave...but he didn't do that at all! (At least not until he had to go to the diving board a few days later!) In fact, his teacher said he was a little dare-devil at the end of class.
These pic's are from our first day of swim lessons. We went to Mazzio's afterwards and Jonah was so tired after a morning at VBS and then swimming, that he laid right on my purse and went to sleep!
Swimming "must-have" for Mackenzie! Hopefully we will make it without having severe ear infections like we have in summers past.
Waiting for instructions about getting into the pool...
Watching them do their exercises...
Mackenzie had a few crying melt-downs during the week leading up to this...she wasn't looking forward to swim lessons...but she did great! Swimming is such an important life-lesson to learn, whether we want to or not!
Jonah was in a class of boys, all about the same size. I mean...they were absolutely adorable!
He had fun splashing when it wasn't his turn with the teacher!

Everybody gave swim lessons two thumbs up!
Sweet sleeping boy!
