OUCHY!

A few hours after everyone left the day of Jonah's birthday party, he was watching tv on our bed and somehow managed to fall forward and cut his eye on the footboard. I wasn't watching him at that second, so I'm not really sure how he did it, but he must have hit it just right. I knew the second I heard him cry that he was really hurt, so I took off running for him. It instantly started bleeding, turned purple and swelled up. After sending some frantic texts and pictures to our Pediatrician and my good friend, Jill, I was reassured that he would be fine and it didn't require stitches.
Poor baby boy! Not a fun way to end such a fun day! The cookie at least helped a little. (I was trying to get a good picture of his eye to send to Dr. Raley.)
This was a few days later. It scabbed over, which almost acted like stitches, holding the skin together. We just made sure his eye didn't get wet for a few days. He had a pretty purple eyelid for a week or two. I have a feeling this is the first of many injuries for this adventurous little boy. Hopefully I'm wrong!
Those eyelashes...
