Mackenzie was out of school on Tuesday for an extended President's Day holiday at Regent. I actually didn't know about this until Monday afternoon around 1:00...I had no idea she was out of school the next day! Madison had ELP, so this was a great time for me to give Mackenzie some much needed one-on-one time. As soon as we got home from taking Madi to school, Mack got out a piece of paper and started making a list of her plans for us, for the day. 1. At Home Pedicures (she wanted to go get real pedicures, but when I told her that was out, she added the words "at home." Smart girl!) 2. Color a Picture 3. Play Hi-Ho Cherry-O. While I was finishing up some things in the kitchen, she proceeded to set up these "stations," as she called them. We had the reading station by the fireplace, the game station in the entryway, the music station and coloring station by the couch, and the pedicure station in her bedroom. Her new bear made the perfect pedicure chair! She worked very hard to set up all of the nail polishes on the Minnie Mouse kitchen. She was so overly excited about all of this and we had a great time going from place to place together. About halfway through, she said, "This is the BEST at home day EVER!" It makes me sad to think that Mackenzie will be in school every day next year. I get so busy doing things that I don't always stop to just play or color. This day was a good reminder for me that I need to do it more often.
I LOVE her toothless smile!
