Virtual Days

We had Virtual Days on Tuesday and Wednesday, due to bad weather. Of course we would all rather just have actual Snow Days without any work, but we will definitely take Virtual Days every now and then too! The big kids pretty much do their virtual work all on their own, which is nice. Jack had some worksheets, drawing assignments and even a Lego project to do. The new desk he got for Christmas is coming in handy!
In case you're wondering what Jack wrote at the top of his paper...it says "Mrs. Gentry is the best teacher. And she loves Jack and he always obeys the teacher. She loves all the kids, even me!"
I agree with Jack...Mrs. Gentry is the best!
Assignment: Build a bridge with Legos.
Jonah helped Jack build a very cool bridge!
Maybe we can call this "recess?" lol

Feb Misc

This tray seriously makes me so happy! I love getting to switch it out for every season. February flew by, with basketball games, Senior night, Valentine's Day, strawberries and cookies, the school play, snow days, taxes (ick!), Thunder games, and everything in between...life is never very boring around our house.
Thankfully, we have been able to raise most of the money for Mackenzie and Jonah's trips coming up at the end of this school year. It is incredible, really, because it is a LOT of money. We have worked very hard though, doing cookies and strawberries, Ubering, working Pizza Hut games and concessions, doing the silent auction at the Fall Festival...anything and everything we can do to make these trips happen!
A pretty weather day means a trip to the park!
Can't wait for him to be a Tball player!
Jack is a singer!
Jonah and friends, practicing for their Talent Review audition! Teenie Weenie Beanie! More about this later, but it was seriously the best ever!
Madi & Jack's Super Bowl dance!
Yay for big sisters who make sure you have the coolest Valentine's box ever!
Shelby's Valentine's Day party!
No clue...

I dread this every single year. Taxes are the worst.
I'm not sure what was happening with her hair here!
Jonah is a big fan of Gaga ball at Recess. He's really good at it too!
GMa surprised Jonah with Thunder tickets almost on the floor! So cool! Sometimes she is able to get these from Leslie. Core memory, made!

The Perfect Dress

All of a sudden, we realized it was the middle of February and JSB will be upon us before we know it. So off we went in search of the perfect dress! Mackenzie tried on several very pretty dresses, but when she came out in this lavender one, we just knew it was "the" one! She is going to be stunning in this dress! I love how it is fitted and has a little train that bustles up in the back. And I also love that it needs way less altering than last years dress! Cristal did such an amazing job, but I didn't want to have to ask her to do that for us again. We are going to have a removable panel put across the back of the dress, so that it is in dress code for JSB, but can be taken out for Prom. Since Kade isn't able to come to JSB (because he is in a musical that weekend), Mackenzie will wear this same dress to his Prom a few weeks later. Madi is already planning and dreaming about her JSB dress for next year!

Lost in Tumblerock

Saturday night was Mackenzie's last CHA performance. Ever. (Insert sad face emoji!) Theater has become such a huge part of Mackenzie's life over the past 6 years, mostly due to this program. We are so grateful for Ms. Hansel and Mr. Hartman and all they have poured into Mackenzie over the years. As always, our family and friends showed up in a big way to support Mackenzie! After the performance, we went to Casa Juanita for the cast party. Mackenzie received the Best Leading Actress award. She also received the "Legacy Award," as the only Senior who has been in the show every single year of Secondary. From Beauty and the Beast (twice, thanks to Covid), Little Women, Robin Hood, Frozen, and finally, Lost in Tumblerock, it has been such a fun ride! I am sad to see this chapter close, but I know that the show must go on...and I can't wait to watch her onstage at SNU next year!
Mackenzie and Madelyn are disguised as cowboys for most of the first act. Jacob did Mackenzie's voice-over, which was quite entertaining.
The truth comes out...Ross is actually Rosaline!
The infamous "I love weak women" line.
Miriam has been the best back stage crew manager!
Cast Party!
The award for Best Leading Actress was a compass, which I thought was very cute and fitting for Lost in Tumblerock!
She earned this one! =0) Mackenzie has been all-in with the drama department for the past 6 years. Even during Robin Hood, which I can now say, was just really bad.
