Believe it or not, it was time for another garage sale! I really don't know how we accumulate this much stuff! However--Brian says this is our last garage sale. Hahaha! I say "we'll see." We did get rid of all of the old tables and clothes racks after this garage sale, so maybe that chapter really is closed. Is it weird that I almost feel a little sad about that?! Garage sales have always been something we do, ever since I was a little girl. This was a big one to go out on. It is true that garage sales are a TON of work, but we made over $2,000 so it was worth it!
When I tell people how much money I make on garage sales, they are shocked. Here's how I do it...
1. Mark EVERYTHING
2. Don't mark it too high
3. ORGANIZE IT and make it look nice
4. Keep everything to sell--people will buy literally anything
5. .25 items ADD UP when there's a ton of them
6. SIGNS, SIGNS, SIGNS...it's all about the signs!
= SUCCESS
As always, I could never have done this without my moms help. She's the best!! She brings a ton of stuff to sell & lets us keep all of the money too. She is the picture of "selfless." Connie also came up and helped since she was here from Arizona, so that was fun! Poppa and Louise were on a cruise to Hawaii, so we missed them being here this time. They did come up on the last day when they got back for a little bit. And of course, Jack was a BIG helper!
It always feels so great to have the house cleaned out and decluttered after a garage sale. Getting rid of some of the kids things is so bittersweet though. We have had the Barbie house upstairs, even though the girls haven't played with it in forever...I was just so sad to get rid of it, but I decided it was time. It was falling apart anyway...I think we sold it for $5! =0) We put a lot of Barbie/Calico Critters/Build-a-Bear/AmericanGirl stuff in the attic & I know it will be so fun someday when we get it out for grandbabies! But I sure miss my little girls right now!
It does feel great to park in a very clean, empty garage now!
LOVE my Momma! Even though it's a lot of work, we always have a fun time. I definitely wouldn't want to do this without her!
This is how garage sale prep starts...it's a MESS.
Insert crying emoji here...Mackenzie cleaned the Barbie house up so we could sell it. She spent so many hours playing with this as a little girl!
It was time to get rid of a bunch of Build-a-Bear clothes too. It makes me so sad, but we just can't keep everything. But rest assured--Pony still has an entire 3 drawer storage container full of clothes and shoes and accessories that fit her!
Poppa Jim had to find Jack and GMa...wonder where they could be?!
I just had to take this picture, because I cleaned our old refrigerator out and it was THE grossest thing I've ever done. It had been out in our garage for a few months and I didn't realize how disgusting it was going to be. Miraculously, after an entire container of clorox wipes and 45 minutes of gagging, it looked like this! We sold it for $100...I'm still trying to decide if it was worth it! =0) I'm just glad someone bought it and got it out of our garage!
GMa made Jack a little hidey hole under one of the tables! She even got under there with him to play sometimes!
This was the first morning...so much stuff!
Like I said, Jack was a lot of help! =0) He was modeling how to use the baby bathtub!
Jonah joined Jack in the table fort after school!
