The Peabody Ducks

On Sunday morning we went to church at Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, which is where Adrian Rogers was the Pastor for many years before he died. It was fun to visit a different church and the worship was awesome! We had lunch at Olive Garden afterwards and then headed downtown for the day. Our first stop was to the Peabody Hotel to see the famous ducks! These must be the most photographed ducks in the world and they don't even give them names. That's just wrong! We got there around 3:00 and they didn't do their march through the lobby until 5:00, so we had a few hours to spare. We ended up going on a very fast paced (and HOT) adventure to the Mud Island park and we made it back just in time! (More about that in another post.) The kids and I sat along the red carpet, and watched the ducks march right into the elevator. They do this two times each day. I honestly don't know what is so fascinating about it...it seemed a little overrated to me, but the kids liked it so that's all that matters I guess! We did learn that scenes from the Tom Cruise movie The Firm were filmed there, so we are planning to watch that soon.
Jonah bit his fingernails the whole time...I hate it that he has picked up that bad habit from me so early.
Once the ducks got into the elevator, we took another elevator up to the roof to see where they live.
Here we are with the "Duckmaster." We had to hurry back inside off the roof, because it started raining on us.
