Mackenzie was old enough to be in (big) SMAK this year and she was so excited! The program they performed on Friday evening was called "Simon Says" and Mackenzie and Kinley tried out and were given a duet together! Mackenzie said a few times that she was nervous, but you never would have known it. The song was called "Come Out" about Lazarus, and they both have beautiful voices and did an awesome job! Mackenzie was most excited about the "surprise" song toward the end of the program. Each of the kids had two lights with crosses on them. It really was very cool! After the program, we had ate pie in the fellowship hall and then G-Ma went back to the Steen's and spent the night with us. It was a fun family night! We are getting along just fine so far without a home this summer. God always takes care of us, right where we are! Events and programs like SMAK make me even more thankful that we are part of a church family that invests into our children by teaching them the love of God through music!
Ms. Maryann, the fearless leader!
I could tell by her expression that she was a little nervous.
I love how she looked over at me before she sang!
This is part one of their song...their solo is in the next video. SO SO proud!!!
"And many believed after what they'd seen,
That Jesus is the Christ,
Who else but God has the power
To turn death into life!"
I hope and pray that these girls are always such sweet, close friends!
Here they were getting ready for the light song.
I love that they did this! I think this will always be something these kids remember about SMAK.
Madison & London were being such a good little sisters and watching the big kids sing!
Poppa & Louise and G-Ma were all there to watch Mackenzie. I am so thankful that they came and that they make it a priority to be there for things like this. Grandma & Grandpa Baldwin are usually always there too, but this time they were on a trip and we definitely missed them. We had dinner with Clint & Abigail beforehand, but they were headed to the movies so they couldn't make it to the program.
Mackenzie was so excited that her teacher, Mrs. Holden was there to watch the program!
It was so fun that Mackenzie was in a program with her cousins this time!
Madi was feeling a little left out of all the action...
BFF's!
The leg...
Totally captures their personalities!
