Exploring Downtown Memphis

After going to church at Bellevue Baptist on Sunday morning, we headed to downtown Memphis to explore and see the Peabody ducks. We had an hour and a half or so before the duck march, so we decided to go to Mud Island while we waited. It was a mad dash to get there and back in time, but we made it! We got to ride on a real trolley to get there, and a monorail across the river, which the girls thought was great fun. Mud Island was very cool...it was a big replica of the Mississippi River that you can wade through, and it was right along the river which was very neat. I will admit, I was a bit moody...it was very hot and I was afraid we wouldn't make it back in time. But. we did and it was all good! After watching the ducks march through the hotel, we walked around and saw Madison Avenue, played in the water fountains, and ate ice cream at Maggie Moo's! It was so hot that I was wishing I could run around in my clothes and get wet in the water fountains. It was a fun day, but we were all glad to make it back to the hotel for a relaxing evening!
The highlight of Mud Island was the baby ducks in the "ocean" at the end of the river!
Maggie Moo's!
These CRACK me up!
Jonah is excited about ice cream!
He's going for it...
Momma pulls it away before he can reach it...
Not happy...
hahaha! Don't worry, I gave it to him!
Tummy full of ice cream...happy boy!
Mackenzie thought it was totally unfair that Madison's name was everywhere and hers wasn't.
The girls LOVED running around in the fountains! They were so funny! Jonah didn't like it too much at first, but he finally got warmed up to the idea.
Jonah played a little bit, but he liked to stay on the stroller, where he was safe!
"aahhhh...." Funny girl!
What a fun day exploring in downtown Memphis!
