Cookies at the Craft Fair

I decided to set up a booth and sell cookies at the Craft Fair at our church this weekend. It was a LOT of work the week before, making 190 cookies and 5 cookie bouquets. On top of that, I had been sick, Madison had croup, and Brian started feeling bad too. Then, Mackenzie had her 4 yr old appt and had shots so she felt bad too. It was a very exhausting week for me, but once it was all over, I was so glad I did it!

I never could have done the Craft Fair without my mom...she was a HUGE help! Just knowing that I had her support and encouragement was such a big deal to me. I also never could have done it without Brian's mom...she came and spent the day with us on Thursday while I decorated cookies. She even spent the night and did the dishes for me! There were a LOT of dishes...I was so thankful for her! Several people at the Craft Fair asked me how I had the time to do this...I jokingly said, "Well, both of our moms have been a huge help, and the girls have been in their pajamas for the past two days!" Honestly, its a good thing the craft fair is over, so I can get back to my regular duties of being a mom!

I have to say that I was a little nervous that I would still have 150 cookies left at the end of the day. Thankfully, that was not the case! I sold over 150 cookies and passed out my flyers to a lot of people. I think I made a lot of good contacts, and got the word out that I am in the cookie business now! Mom came up on Friday after school and we headed to the church, cookies in tow to set up...that was a very fun ride, trying to make sure the cookies and cookie bouquets weren't messed up. Several cars passed us along the way! Mackenzie REALLY wanted to go with us the next morning to sell cookies. Anywhere G-Ma is, she wants to be too! We convinced her to stay home and play with daddy for a while, and then he would bring her up to help sell cookies. They came up around 2:15 or so...daddy brought the brush and rubberbands so I could fix their hair! He's not too good at that! I loved our table...it looked so pretty!

This was a very good experience...one that I will only do once a year! SOOOO much work, but worth it in the end! I enjoyed sitting at our booth and visiting with my mom so much. My Grandma Jean would have loved to spend this day with us. I really miss her on occassions like this. I think she would be very proud of me too, and that makes me smile!

This was really so much fun! The girls were so much "help!" I was glad they didn't make their appearance until late in the day! Love these three girls!

The little cookie monsters wanted to eat cookies right away! I think they both had 2 cookies in less than an hour...can you say sugar rush?! Madison loves "Ma-Ma!" That is how she says "G-Ma!"G-Ma brought her library cart so we could haul the cookies on it...as soon as the girls got there, they wanted to ride! She has trained them well!

Yes, Mackenzie is actually wearing pants! She likes this outfit because it says "I Love to Dance!"

I did 24 different shapes of cookies! Along with the 190 I made for the Craft Fair, I also did an order of 25 footballs for a friend in Newcastle. I decorated cookies for 12 hours on Thursday! My hand was sore and my back hurt! It was fun though. Here are some of my favorites:
