Igniting the Mission at STBC

We had our first "Ignite the Mission" event at STBC on Saturday night, and it was so encouraging and special. It was very emotional for Brian to share his story of how God led us to start GoodNews Journey, with people that we love so much. It really is amazing that after being gone from South Tulsa for nearly a decade, God has brought us back together to partner with this amazing group of people again. These are mostly families whose kids are now grown, but were teenagers that we loved dearly during our time in Tulsa. When I think back to how devastated I was when we left STBC 9 years ago, God knew even then that these relationships would stay with us and grow in new ways down the road. Cindy and Jennifer have been an absolute God-send, and we could not have launched GNJ the way we have, without them. I don't want to leave anyone out, but I'm going to try to list everyone who was there...the Peronas, Whites, Pirtles, Conrads, Thompsons, Bayless', Remys, Greers, Carvers, Frenchs, Chris Fransisco, Stephens, Futrells, Easterwoods, Osbornes, Danny & Amy...I am probably missing a few. I think there were close to 30 people who came to hear about GoodNews Journey, and almost everyone who was there is partnering with us financially in some way. And several STBC friends who couldn't make it, are still supporting GNJ. This night was really the first time that we shared publicly about GoodNews Journey, and it was so encouraging to receive so much affirmation, encouragement, and people saying "We are in this with you...we believe in you...we want to join you in this ministry" by becoming financial partners. God is so faithful and good! As Brian likes to say, this night "blew fresh wind in our sails" and gave us even more confidence in what God is doing with GoodNews Journey!
I really can't even adequately put into words what this night meant to us...it was the biggest answer to prayer and blessed our socks off!
John put together the most beautiful charcuterie boards and I made cookies. We joked that instead of steak and lobster, like Dare2Share had at their fundraising event, we had cheese and cookies! =0) Have to start somewhere, right?! It was perfect and we are so grateful for all Cindy and the Peronas did to make this night happen!!
Goodness, so many sweet memories with my babies in this hallway doing Wednesday night children's choir and PreSMAK programs in the summers.
It meant the world to us that Danny & Amy were there & are partnering with us! It means a whole lot when your big brother supports and believes in you.
We went to dinner with Danny and Amy at Tazikis afterwards. Miss this place so much!
Grilled chicken feast...my favorite!

Basketball Homecoming

From dress-up days all week, to candy-grams, to the pep assembly and the co-ed cheer, to Mackenzie's Senior banner, to winning the boys game at the buzzer, and to Shelby being one of the Senior attendants...Homecoming was a lot of fun!
The girls were recognized at the Pep Assembly for winning Game Day State.
The co-ed cheer is always a favorite!
Seniors vs. Staff dodgeball game.
This was my first time to walk into the gym and see her Senior banner. I thought I would burst into tears, but I held it together okay. Very surreal though!
GMa is always so faithful to show up for everything our kids do. Thankful!
Sometimes it's really hard to sit through basketball games...especially after a long day at school.
Winning at the buzzer is pretty exciting!
Shelby looked so beautiful!
