DRAMA

Well....my sweet little girl is beginning to show signs of becoming an adolescent. And I'm just not even sure I like it at all! Mercy! I think I'm in for it!
I really laugh when I find things like this that the girls write. I'm sure someday when they are grown, they will laugh about it too!
Madison gets in on the drama sometimes too!
And because its just too funny...and TRUE!!

Dreaming of Hawaii...Shopping for a Coat

I can't even explain how excited I am about going to Hawaii!! I can hardly stand it! Especially when I am freezing cold and bundled up in 3 layers of clothing. I am ready to go TODAY, but I have to wait 3 more months...so instead I went shopping at the North Face outlet to exchange a vest that G-Ma got me for Christmas, for this purple jacket. Jonah's a good little shopping buddy! He spent a LOT of time shopping with me leading up to our trip in April.
I really liked this cream colored one too, but it wasn't as soft and cozy as the purple one.
Jonah got a chocolate dipped sugar cookie with sprinkles, for being such a good shopper!

Mack's Middle School Preview & Author Lunch

Mackenzie completed the Sequoyah Reading Challenge, so she got to attend a special lunch and book signing with author Steve Sheinkin. She was SO excited about this! She is a very good reader and we are very proud of her.
OCS also had a Middle School Preview night that we went to. I can't even wrap my mind around her being in Middle School next year. Mackenzie was extremely excited that she won a drawing to pick out her locker for next year. Of course she picked the locker right by the water fountain, where she would be able to talk to everyone! That girl makes me laugh! About a month after this happened, we made the decision that we are going to change schools next year. Many tears have been shed over this locker by the water fountain that she will never get to have. It makes me sad for Mackenzie, looking through these pictures. If I would have known that we weren't going to be at OCS next year, I wouldn't have taken her to this preview night. =0(
They served pizza for the 5th graders and their families at the preview night, and then we got to look around the classrooms, meet teachers and go to the basketball game in the gym. There was a LOT of activity going on and I was READY to go home by the time it was over! This was when Brian was in Latvia, so I was flying solo with the kids.
Some of Mackenzie's sweet friends.
This is how I feel about her being old enough for Middle School....Noooooo!!!!! But just look how happy she is about it! =0)))
They got to sit in the 8th grade History teachers class for a few minutes.
Waiting to see who would win the drawings!
Ohhhh, the locker...
A fun little worksheet she must have done right when they went back to school after Christmas break!

Jan Misc.

January is not my favorite month...I'm sure I probably write this on my blog every single year. I think its because of the let-down after Christmas is over. And, I don't like New Years resolutions! And its freezing cold, gets dark super early & well...I just don't like it! That being said, it was still a good month! Brian got a new van, so we are a 2 minivan family now...we're just THAT cool! We also got a membership at the YMCA by our house and I have started taking the girls to Kids Fit classes on Mondays and Tuesdays after school. Brian went to Atlanta and also to Latvia for work trips in January. The plus side to January is that we get to spend a lot of time at home together and the pace slows way down from December. Here are some random pics from Jan.
Jonah found these gloves in his closet...my Dad bought them for Mackenzie when she was a tiny baby...so it was pretty special to me that now Jonah can wear them! Just wish his Pa was here to see it!
Yea for 90% off at Hobby Lobby...I saved a ton of money on Christmas ornaments for next years cookie baskets!
Daddy's new ride!
He took one for the team on this one!
It doesn't matter if its a stomped on fake flower...if its a flower, he's going to give it to his Momma!
I miss Brian extra during the morning drives to school when he's out of town...I'm very spoiled that he takes the kids to school in the mornings.
Jonah is a good boy when he has to wait at appointments in the afternoons with me.
New glasses for Momma!
Mac-n-cheese, Veggie Straws, Carrots & Skittles...a pretty balanced lunch if you ask me!
Excited for their first Kids Fit class!
Slumber party in the living room!
Daddy is teaching Mackenzie to play her new guitar.
This is where Jonah sleeps most nights. He doesn't start out here, but halfway through the night he comes down and tries to climb into our bed. If I'm really sleepy & don't already have a pallet made, I just let him crawl in...but most of the time I make him a pallet beside me.
Jonah is a big fan of The Few comic books! We had to take some pics to send Todd.
Some days...
We still do hearts when Daddy goes away!
So I got this idea that I wanted a new wedding ring...in fact, I went to the mall a few times and tried on a lot of them...but then I came to my senses and decided that we don't need to spend money on that. Even though I would love it, there are much more important things in life. (Like going to HAWAII!!)
FaceTiming with friends always makes the day better!
Think its safe to say Jonah liked his spaghetti!
I help in Madison's Missions class at church on Wednesday nights! Look how cute she is with this side pony and jean jacket!
Jonah and I had a lunch date at Chick-fil-a with some of his friends from school one day.
There is no greater Diet Coke fan than me, but this is just wrong. ICK!!
I mean...really...
Yea for Date Night!
Mackenzie had to have a tooth pulled. She was not at all dramatic about this. No, not at all...
Freddy's cheered her up afterwards!
