My Little Nurses

I had two or three bouts with sickness during January and February. Thankfully, with lots of rest, three sweet little nurses (and one tall, handsome nurse), hours of watching Lost and Prison Break every night, and the discovery of essential oils, I finally got better!
This definitely made me feel better...

Live Intentionally

Lord,
Help me to ...
Live Intentionally...
To walk daily with you...
To be the Godly wife you have called me to be...
To show my kids what it means to be a Christ follower...
To show my girls what true beauty is and where it comes from...
To not compare myself with others and measure my worth and success from that...
To have genuine love and compassion for others...
To have a gentle and quiet spirit...
To be quick to ask forgiveness when I fall short...
To put you first and prioritize the most important things...
To not neglect the things I know I should do...
To not be overwhelmed by the every day things on my "to-do" list...
To realize it's okay if I don't do it all...
To make the most of every opportunity I have with my children...
Yes, Lord...Help me to Live Intentionally...
Shout out to my awesome friend, Kari Romoser, who got me this shirt for my birthday. It's one of my fav's! It's comfy, cute, and it's a great reminder to Live Intentionally! =0)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day fell on the Saturday of Damascus Weekend. Madison had a basketball game that morning, so Grandma Baldwin came up to watch her play. Then she hung out at the house with the kids while I went shopping at Rhea Lana with Connie. Daddy got home around 4:00 or so and we spent the evening relaxing at home. I got Daddy a new sports jacket and he is painting the kitchen for me! My favorite part of the day was the song that he and the kids sang for me. I love my family so much!
I mean, we needed some more stuffed animals around here!
Jonah was really excited about his new Action Chugger train!
This girl...
G-Ma sent Jonah this Mickey Mouse card and he LOVES it! We have listened to it over and over...
Here are some sweet things the kids made for us!

Love (and Cookies) Is In The Air

This was my 3rd year to do Valentine's cookies for the Wallace Engineering firm. The order this year was for 145 dozen! Yes, DOZEN! That's 1,740 cookies to mix, bake, and decorate! All in all, this was a project spread out over nearly two weeks. It was a ton of work and I couldn't have done it without my handsome box assembler & cookie deliver (Brian) and my decorating assistant (Mom)! I will say that it was SO much easier in my new kitchen this year. We had so much more room to work with and we were able to get into a pattern of doing 12 dozen at a time. At about the 72 dozen point, we started racing the clock to see if we could decorate and box 12 dozen in 45 minutes...it was kind of like being on cupcake wars! =0) The first year we did this, Brian was in Guatemala, Jonah was a baby, and one of the girls were sick...it was crazy! The second year, Brian had Damascus Weekend and wasn't able to help with the kids while we decorated. This year, he was going to be home to take care of the kids, which I was so happy about! What we weren't expecting was for him to wake up with a stomach virus...eek! We made it just fine and the kids were great! Also, on top of that, Madison had two basketball games on Saturday...So, we took care of the kids, went to two basketball games, took care of a sick husband, and decorated 145 dozen cookies on Saturday! Whew!! We finished around 1:30 a.m. and I can't even describe the relief I felt! I am always so thankful for this job...this year, it is providing the extra $ we need to be able to go on vacation in April. I feel like I have neglected the kids recently because I've been so busy with this, but when we are having a blast at Disney World, it will all have been worth it!
We slept in on Sunday morning and then sticking with "post-cookie" tradition, we went to Cracker Barrel for lunch! I'm looking forward to a break from cookies for a few weeks!
This isn't all of them...we had to take 2 boxes of cookies to the church freezer because they wouldn't fit!
30 batches of icing!
I look way too tired to just be getting started! Haha! Nice photo-bomb, Brian! I am SO thankful for my mom's help with this project. First of all, it would be a nearly impossible task for me on my own, and secondly, she just makes it more fun!
This x's 145...and we're done!
Now that's a carload of cookies! =0)

Spirit-Grams!

During Spirit Week, the school sells "Spirit-Grams" for .25 each as a fundraiser. The kids can write messages to their friends & then they are delivered to them at the end of the week. Here are a few of the Spirit-Grams the girls sent and received! My favorite is Madison's Spirit-Gram to the school mascot, Rowdy the Ram! So funny!
