The Hamilton and Fords Theater

Right after our White House tour, we walked over to The Hamilton and met up with our cousin, Tommy. This was a last minute arrangement, and we were so happy that we got to spend some time catching up with him. Tommy is involved in the government and has lived all over the world. He has some fascinating stories and it was so kind of him to treat us to lunch. After lunch, we were off to Ford's Theater. No matter how many times I visit DC, it is still one of my favorite places to see. Something I realized on this trip with just the two of us is that you can move a whole lot faster than when you are traveling in a big group! =0) Mom is going to be bringing the 8th graders from Shiloh this next year, so this trip was mostly to help her experience DC before that, so she will have a better handle on leading the group. We wrapped up our day with dinner at Union Station, and then made our way back to the hotel to rest. So. Much. Walking.
It was fun to listen to their stories of growing up together! They've got some good ones!
I knew she would love this book tower! All books about Abraham Lincoln...amazing!
