On our last morning in DC, we went to visit the Iwo Jima Memorial & we walked up on one of the most amazing things I've ever seen in Washington DC. It was incredible! The Marines were practicing for an event that was happening later that night. There were maybe 5 other people there watching when it first started, so it was like a private showing just for us. It lasted for almost 45 minutes. So proud to be an American! It was hard to not just stand there and cry. What a perfect way to wrap up such a wonderful trip! I could not believe we got to see this--God's providence for sure.
