Mackenzie had dress rehearsals Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during the week leading up to Little Women on Friday/Saturday. And yes, I was the ONLY parent at the rehearsals, but I didn't care! I did at least sit in the back and try to be as invisible as possible most of the time. Well, when I wasn't chasing Jack around the lobby. He didn't exactly make it easy for me to watch the rehearsals. I tried not to let on to Mackenzie just how nervous I was for her. I'm fairly sure I was more nervous than she even was, and I'm so glad about that! I really don't want my kids to have my anxiety issues! It wasn't that I doubted her ability AT ALL, I'm just a bundle of nerves when it comes to performing or being in front of people in any capacity. Hindsight: I should not have worried for even one second...she was completely AMAZING!
The first few times she practiced her kite song, it was a little rough. She was having a hard time knowing exactly when to come in. I kept telling her even if she messed it up and had to start over, it would still be so beautiful that no one would even care or hardly notice. But, during the actual performances, she came in at the right time every time!
With each dress rehearsal, they fine-tuned things and by Friday morning, they were ready!
* I feel like we basically lived at the school this whole week.
Jack really just wanted to go home!
This was on Tuesday, the first day I saw her practice on stage in costume. It was a little rough, but still so good!

Off to Massachusetts...I'm so glad I video'd from this direction, because during the actual performances we couldn't see her behind the piano.
