After 9 long months, June 19th was finally here and it was time to meet our baby! I remember the drive to the hospital to have all 4 of our kids, vividly...always so excited to meet our baby, but very anxious for what I'm about to experience. The c-section was scheduled for 7:30 and we had to be there by 5:30. We delivered at Integris Edmond this time, which is only about 10 minutes from our house. We made final guesses...Daddy guessed boy and I guessed girl...as we pulled into the parking lot. When we walked into the hospital wearing our masks, it was a ghost town...of course because it was early, but also because of Covid there was literally no-one there. They got me checked in and settled in our room, I changed into that beautiful hospital gown, got my iv, visited with the anesthesiologist, Dr. Shepherd came in to see me, we took some pictures (of course), and then all of a sudden it was go time! It was so strange to not have any of our family there to say goodbye to as they wheeled me to the OR. I was able to text with my mom before going to the OR, so that was good...I'm sure it was so hard for her to just be sitting at my house and not able to be at the hospital. I guess I should just be thankful that Brian was able to be there with me...a few months ago, there were places in the US where women were having to deliver their babies without even their spouses there. I can't even imagine that!
Here are some early morning, pre-baby pictures...
Last prego pic EVER!! Yippee!!
We have been stuck at home for so long and haven't gone anywhere, so that made it even more exciting to actually be packing bags for a "trip!"
Officially ready now...
Madison begged me to take this little puppy to the hospital with me!
Definitely missed having all of our family there...under normal circumstances, this room would have been filled with the people we love most, waiting anxiously to find out if this baby is a boy or girl.
It was exciting to walk in and see this little baby station and think that in just a few short hours, we would have a baby in there!
Getting on his gear!
