Maybe Next Time, Galveston

On Sunday morning, we slept in a little and then packed up our stuff to head home. Before we left though, we drove back to the beach in Galveston and spent a little time there. We took the ferry across the bay and got to see so many dolphins! Then Mackenzie and Jack really wanted to swim in the ocean, so we let them do that for a few minutes. It was a sad feeling to be driving home already, without having the fun experience of the cruise that we were supposed to go on. I had been looking forward to this cruise, and using it as a way to keep my mind off of the fact that we were about to move Mackenzie to college. Going home meant that was our reality over the next few weeks.
Looking back, God worked all things for our good, and we would get to do an even better, longer cruise over Thanksgiving, for less money than this one cost, even! I had to keep reminding my heart to stay in this lane though...I was pretty sad that we didn't get to do the cruise.
This was the quickest trip to Galveston and back, ever...we returned home with no souvenirs and with one less organ for Jonah. We are definitely going to need a re-do on this "vacation!"
