We had planned to go to Grant's Farm on Thursday, but since it rained all day, we changed our plans and went on Friday morning before going to The Magic House. I wish I could say that it was a perfectly pleasant experience, but it was really rather frustrating. Madison spent most of the morning crying & I wasn't feeling great. That was a bad combination! Grant's Farm was a really neat place though, and I'd love to go back some day. We went on a tram ride, saw an elephant show, fed baby goats, and rode the carousel before making a quick exit. There were seriously probably 40 baby goats in this pen, and we bought bottles of milk to feed them with. I thought the girls would love it. However, Madison was pretty much traumatized the entire time, and Mackenzie did okay until three little goats started eating her dress. It turned out to be a very stressful experience! At one point, I found one of the smallest little goats and got it off to the side so that Madison wouldn't feel so overwhelmed. She was happy & actually petting the goat...until all of a sudden another goat came up from behind and started chewing on her hair! Needless to say, that was the end of our baby goat experience! After leaving Grant's Farm, we grabbed a quick lunch in the parking lot at Arby's while Madison took a nap in the car. No way were we going anywhere else until she got a nap! Then it was off to The Magic House...We drove by Mackenzie Road on our way to Grant's Farm. She thought that was neat & kept looking for Madison Road after that!

We saw Ulysses S. Grant's home, and lots of animals on the tram ride.

Here is our baby goat adventure... (Mackenzie loved this little bitty goat.)

They liked her dress...she didn't like this at all!

This is pretty much how Madison felt about the whole thing.

Mackenzie liked the baby goats, it was just overwhelming when several of them surrounded us at once. It was better to get one or two off to the side. She loved brushing them!

There were a few enjoyable seconds for Madison, I think!

These pictures of me & Madison with this little goat are really funny...he was a VERY friendly little thing & wanted to chew on anything he could find.

He liked my hair.

"Ummm....sorry, buddy...you're not gonna get anything outta there!" Ha,ha,ha! Obviously, I was a little shocked by his "friendliness!" Madison's looking like "WHAT is he doing?!" I really don't like this picture of me, but it was just too funny to delete it!

I decided maybe it would be better if I just stood up! Madison was happiest when we were holding her. She felt safer when she wasn't on the same level as the goats. I can understand why that would be scary to her...they were about as tall as she was.

Even though this was kinda crazy, I do have fond memories of it & I will always smile when I think about it.

Yep...this is the end of the goat story! Brian just happened to have the camera ready at this exact second.

This was the most frustrating carousel ride EVER. You can't tell it by this picture, but Madison cried the entire time (as soon as the carousel started) & Mackenzie was upset because she didn't get to ride on the Seahorse. So, we headed back to the car after this! You just never know how things are going to go with kids. I LOVE these precious girls more than life, but they wear me out sometimes!
