JDA Dance Recital

This was Mackenzie's 2nd year to dance, and her 2nd dance recital. This year her recital was at the Jenks Performing Arts Center. It was a lot bigger than last years recital! We were so glad that Pa & G-Ma, Poppa & Louise, Uncle Clint, and Aunt Barbara & Uncle Alan could be there to watch her dance. We had lunch at the house before her recital at 2:00. As always, Mackenzie wanted to be "announced" by G-Ma once she was ready! G-Ma gave her a grand entrance of course! Mackenzie's class danced to two songs: "Yes Sir, That's My Baby" and "How Many Miles to Baby Land." She never missed a step, and seemed to really enjoy herself. About halfway through the recital, during "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," Madison fell asleep on my lap. At the end, all of the dancers came out on stage with their trophies, and she waved the entire time...and it was a LONG time! This was her first trophy ever, and she loves it! When I went backstage to pick Mackenzie up, she looked at me and said, "Where are my flowers?" (ha,ha,ha!) It was very funny! Actually, Pa picked out some pretty yellow roses for her. He was very proud of them! We also got her a big butterfly balloon. Grandma & Grandpa Baldwin were on vacation, so they missed the recital this year. It wasn't the same without them! I was very proud of my little dancer! I guess I gave Mackenzie a little too much praise because when we got home she said, "Mommy you can stop telling me how good I did now!" =0)She was so excited that she got to wear real mascara! The grand entrance...I love the look on her face! You tell this girl to pose, and you better have your camera ready...away she goes!Just precious! We love you, Mackenzie, and we will stand by you and support you in whatever your dreams are for the future! We are so proud of you!Pa had his first cyberknife treatment this past week and we are very thankful that he is doing so well. I know how badly he wanted to be there to watch Mackenzie's recital. It's easy to see that Mackenzie adores her Pa & G-Ma! (I liked all 3 pictures, so they all made the cut!)"Yes Sir, That's MY Baby!"Mackenzie loved the roses Pa & G-Ma got for her! Pa loves Mackenzie & Madison so much! Sometimes he will say, "I love my girls!"Everything was going just fine until Mackenzie got a little cut on her finger. Poppa Jim jumped in and saved the day with a tiny little band-aid he had in his wallet. Thank goodness Mackenzie had two Grandpa's there to take care of her!It was a beautiful, but very windy day.We were all very tired by the time this was all over. The recital was wonderful, but it lasted 2 hours and 10 minutes. I am looking forward to taking a break from dance class over the summer, and we will see if Mackenzie wants to do it again in the Fall. Whatever she decides to do is fine with us.
