Little Sickies

The only thing that is worse than having one sick little girl, is having two sick little girls at the same time. It seems like the girls have been sick on and off during the whole month of April. For a few nights at the beginning of the month, they both cough, cough, coughed all night. Those nights are SOOOOO long and sleepless for them, and me. I usually end up "sleeping" on the couch with them, and waking up every time they cough. Mackenzie has a tendency to throw up when she coughs, so I am always anticipating it. Madison is extremely clingy and wants me to hold her constantly when she is sick. It just kind of throws off my entire routine when I'm taking care of sick kids around the clock. I am always amazed at how resilient they are though...even when they don't feel good, they can still play and try to have fun. When I'm sick, I'm SICK, you know?! We did a lot of laying around and watching movies, and as Madison likes to say, "Dor-da!" I'm just glad they are feeling better!
Mackenzie doesn't like it when her nose is stopped up at all. She kept crying and saying, "Mommy, my nose is messing with me!" It was sad, but a little bit funny. Madison has discovered that if she wakes up around 9:30 or 10:00 and we are still awake, she can cry and cry until we come get her out of bed...then she gets to sit up and watch tv with us...as soon as I pick her up out of her bed, she points to the door and says, "GO!" Smart girl!Taking care of my little sick birdies!
