On April 15th, when I was right at 30 weeks pregnant, I decided I wanted to do a 4D ultrasound...this pregnancy has been so different, because I only had two real ultrasounds, one at the very beginning and then the anatomy scan at 19 weeks that we didn't get very good pictures from at all. So I was really feeling a little sad that we hadn't been able to see this sweet baby like we did with the others. Well, at least with Madison and Jonah...we were spoiled to have ultrasounds at every appointment with them. With Mackenzie, it was the standard beginning and middle ultrasound only, but I didn't know any different at that time since she was our first.
Anyway...now there are these advanced imaging ultrasound places, almost like spas, that you can go to for 4D ultrasounds...I never even knew that was a thing until this pregnancy. It cost around $120, but I really think that may be the best $120 we've ever spent! How AMAZING are these pictures of our precious little baby?! I was blown away! And so in love, from the second this sweet face popped up on that screen!
The first thing we saw was that the baby has hair...you could actually see it floating up from the baby's head! And then of course we noticed those cheeks...oh my word...this baby definitely is going to fit in with the other three...our babies have the best cheeks! =0)
I was actually very nervous that we were going to accidentally see what the gender of the baby was, because everything was so clear and detailed...but the ultrasound technician did a great job and made sure she stayed right on the baby's face! I go back and forth, thinking the baby looks like a boy or a girl...I just know this baby is ADORABLE and is being fearfully and wonderfully made...what a miracle!!
In the midst of such an unstable, anxiety filled, overwhelming time in life, getting to see our sweet baby's face was such a gift!! We just can't wait to hold this little one in our arms in a few months! I put a few of these pics on FB and 345 people liked them...this baby is going to be so, so loved! I'm including some of the comments below!
I was really wanting to take the kids with us to do this, but because of Covid, they would only allow me to bring one person. We had fun showing the pictures to them as soon as we got home though! There was lots of "aahhing" and "oohing!"
This picture especially looks like Brian's baby pictures to me. That sweet little Baldwin nose...

The baby's heart rate was a little lower than it normally is during this appointment. It was 129 and is usually in the 140's, but my doctor assured me it was still in the safe range.
