Baldwin Family Blog: April Misc.

April was just completely full of cute things to take pictures of! It was kind of a crazy month, with Daddy driving back and forth to OKC four times a week, us putting our house on the market and trying to keep it clean, visiting schools and making a final decision about where the girls will go to school next year, and just keeping up with the every day things like homework! The saying "The days are long but the years are short" popped into my head just now...it feels like we run 100 mph all of the time, but then sometimes I stop and pause and think "where did the last week go?!"

Here are some pictures and videos of the every-day things we did in April!

Jonah was protesting taking a nap, so he showed me by laying in the floor instead of the bed! Ha,ha!

I took Jonah to a new haircut place that is closer to my house and he did great! He is growing and changing so much these days and is truly becoming a big boy. (sniff, sniff)

One of Brian's Uncles posted this picture on FB the other day & I think it's the greatest! This is Brian's Grandma & Grandpa Baldwin, with all 10 of their kids...Brian's Dad and his Aunts and Uncles.

Sweet friends...

I was in the pick up line at school one day and the girls were walking in from P.E....Mackenzie had on her hat and she had given Kinley this scarf to put around her head so they wouldn't get wet. Funny girls! Oh, how they are going to miss each other next year. =0(

I found this note in one of Mackenzie's notebooks...I'm so glad going to QT means it will be a good day!

The girls decided it would be great fun to play dress up with Jonah & they turned him into a Prince! So funny! They even taught him to put his hand on his chest and take a bow! He doesn't always comply with their demands, but today he was being pretty agreeable!

Wow! Jonah has grown a lot in a year!

Costume #2 was Woody, with Mackenzie's (way too big) "cowboy" boots!

We have spent a lot of time working on spelling words like this! I'm so glad we have finally figured out a good way to help Madison learn them!

The girls decided on their own to make this checklist and clean the whole house for me! LOVE that!! They can be such great helpers! (when they want to be)

Grandma Baldwin had surgery to fix her broken wrist, so we went up to visit her. We took her some pretty flowers and some m&m's. (Mackenzie was still in school when we went up there.)

Homework, Homework, and MORE Homework!!

I would like to give an explanation for this picture, but I don't have a clue why we did this! =0)

Okay, I know this is awful looking, but I just have to include it because its a story I want to remember...so G-Ma found a bird nest in her grill on the backporch with 5 eggs in it. For weeks, the momma bird didn't come back, so she decided to send the nest with the girls so they could take it to Nature Studies at school, since she assumed the eggs would never hatch. Well, we stopped to have dinner with some new friends in Edmond on our way back to Tulsa and while we were there, we discovered that one of the baby birds had hatched. Wait...WHAT?!?! NOOOOOO!!! That was NOT supposed to happen! By the next morning, there were 3 baby birds. (insert wide-eyed emoji here) All I knew was that I did not have the time or endurance to feed these baby birds every 30 minutes, so I called around to animal clinics until I found one that would take them. Brian took the kids with him to drop them off and he let them NAME the birds on the way...(are you kidding me?!) Miraculously, there were no tears when they left the birds. Here were the names they chose...Lucy, Samantha, Neil (that was Jonah's pick), Crystal-Lila, and...wait for it...Brian named the bird that didn't make it Lazarus. Hysterical! So while the bird situation was a bit of a fiasco, it did bring some laughter and all was well once the birds were in capable hands!

Ready to celebrate their friend, Hannah's birthday "Tea Party!" Aren't they pretty?!

Something wore them out! LOL!

Time for the Regent Book Sale...of course most of the books Madison wanted were about dogs!

Woof is one of her favorites...I bet she brought this book home from the library at least 4 different times this year.

Jonah picked a book too...such a boy!!

So crazy that she's reading such big books now!

Connie and I helped hostess a wedding shower for Kari's son, Jake & his bride-to-be, Rebecca. Love their family dearly!

Our sweet friends, the Perona's, hosted a little get-together for us at their house, with the parents of teenagers. We have been surrounded by some great people here in Tulsa that we will love forever!

Jennifer is one of the most genuinely kind-hearted people I know. She has reached out and been a friend to me since the very first day we came to South Tulsa. I love her very much!

Jonah isn't too happy about learning to brush his teeth.

Madison wrote this puppet show all by herself. I was impressed! Jonah "helped" too!

I was intently watching something on tv and didn't realize Brian was doing this...LOL!

Then it became a game...

We've lost our marbles! Hahaha! To go along with this picture, one of my recent FB status's said this..."Sometimes all 3 of your kids sing "it's a hard knock life for us" at the top of their lungs while helping put mulch in the flower beds...😂 Our neighbors probably don't know about us!" True story!

Self Check is the only way to go, but sometimes I have way too much help! Mackenzie is actually really good at self checking and could probably do the whole thing by herself.

We were getting out of the van to go into Target and Jonah said, "Mommy will you carry me?"

Why, yes...of course...because far too soon, I won't be able to do that anymore.

Then, as we walked in, with his little arms around my neck, he said "I wuv you, Mommy!"

Melt. My. Heart.

I saw this and it reminded me of Kari, but it pretty much applies to me too!

If I had to pick only one thing to eat for the rest of my life...hot chocolate chip cookies from McDonald's would win. They make any day better! Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner...or anytime in between.

We took Mackenzie to do one more visit at a school we were considering and I spent some time hanging out in Brian's office while she was there. I organized and decorated his bookshelves, and I just have to say...it looked so much better after I was done! We ended up leaving early because there were tornado warnings across the state and we wanted to make sure we didn't get into any of that.
